    CHANTING AND SHRINE ROOM PROTOCOL

This training will review the skills and details of how to light the shrines, lead the chants, and hold the dignity of a meditative space for others during sitting meditation.

Whether you are a new person who is inspired to learn the skills of being an umdze, or you are currently an umdze who wants to develop further in your practice, you are invited to attend this training.

There is no charge for this training, and no obligation to become an umdze after the training. Please join in.

An “umdze” is the time keeper or chant leader for sitting meditation. Being an umdze is an opportunity to deepen your own practice while also serving others.

This training will review the skills and details of how to relate with all the shrines, lead the chants, and hold the dignity of a meditative space for others during sitting meditation. Trained volunteers provide a clear atmosphere for others.
