The Sadhana of Mahamudra is terma, teachings concealed for the sake of future generations by the great Tibetan teacher Padmasambhava, to be discovered by special teachers when they are most needed. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder our Shambhala centers, received this Sadhana, which is chanted in a group session at our Center on the full moon.

The Sadhana is intended to overcome obstacles and undercut any ideas of using spiritual teachings and practices to enhance ego. Its blessings are particularly strong because it was discovered for the benefit of our current world situation.

You may not understand its symbolism fully the first time, but understanding develops with patience and contemplation. So we encourage you to jump in and experience how sadhana practice actually feels. The chant leader will give a brief explanation beforehand, and will be available to answer questions afterwards.
