Please join us as we celebrate the Winter Solstice and the brilliance of the Great Eastern Sun with our families and children!

Here's a link to "How to Make A Children's Day Shrine" in your own home!

As Junior Warriors will be cancelled on Sunday, December 17, we invite you and your children to come to our Annual Children's Day Celebration on December 16.

Everyone who is young at heart (with or without children) is invited to our Annual Children’s Day Solstice Celebration on Saturday, December 16.  The Festivities will begin at 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.  We ask that you arrive a few minutes early.  The children can dress in uplifted clothes, if they like.  We ask that they bring a small offering to be placed on the shrine during the beginning procession. (These items can be taken back home if they have a special attachment or meaning to your child.)   Please bring potluck dish to share

Our time together will include an opening lhasang (smoke ceremony) and a processional into the shrine room followed a short talk about the meaning of Children’s Day.  Other activities will include making crowns, Ikebana flower arrangements, singing and a short play, to include all children, about the Four Dignities of Shambhala — the Tiger, Lion, Garuda and the Dragon.   A $10.00 donation per family is requested for our 'Shambhala Solstice Play,' as Chris Bacon is traveling from California to join us once again!

The celebration of Children's Day is a relaxed, wonderful, and magical way to mark the Winter Solstice in a socially wholesome and memorable Shambhalian manner!  We ask that you please register so that we have enough supplies for everyone.

This holiday, instituted by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, celebrates children and childhood, emphasizing that every child can be a king or a queen.
