SHAMBHALA DAY Pre-Celebration Pot Luck- The Year of the Iron Mouse

February 23rd

Date details +
    Room: Main Meditation Hall

ALL WELCOME! Join us on Sunday, February 23 to pre-celebrate Shambhala Day with a potluck welcome new members and usher in the Tibetan New Year (Losar), the Year of the Iron Mouse.

Please RSVP using the registration form so that we have an idea of how many people expect to attend. See program details below.

Shambhala Day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. Because Losar is on Monday, February 24 this year, we wanted to include those who can’t attend the official event by beginning our celebration with a potluck lunch on Sunday February 23 after sitting meditation. Gathering to share a meal helps us feel how our connection inspires, sustains and strengthens us.

If you're able, do join us on Monday, February 24 when, among other activities, we’ll watch the worldwide, live broadcast from Nova Scotia at 11 am, which includes a slide show of photos from centers and groups all over the world.

Shambhala Day is when we offer financial support to Shambhala Global Services. Click here for a comprehensive overview of the many ways they support the community. They rely on our financial support to offer these services.

You can donate ahead of time by credit card at You can also leave your gift (cash, check or credit card #) in the donation box at the Center.  Donation slips will be available both on Sunday, February 23, and Monday, February 24.
